Frequently asked questions

What counts as an easy trail?
We mark a route easy when it's roughly 5 km or shorter with under 200 m of total climbing, on clear, well-marked paths. Nature trails (tanösvény) count as easy too — they're built for families and short visits.
Are these trails suitable for children?
Yes. Easy routes are the best place to start with kids — gentle gradients, shorter distances, and frequent landmarks like viewpoints and springs to keep the walk interesting.
Can I reach the start by public transport?
Many easy trails begin near a Volánbusz stop or the HÉV line from Budapest. Use the 'Reachable by bus' filter to see only the routes you can get to without a car.
