About Piliscsaba
Piliscsaba sits at the foot of the Pilis hills, twenty minutes west of Budapest on the Esztergom rail line. The town has a growing expat scene, helped along by Pázmány Péter Catholic University's campus on the southern edge and the easy commute into the city. Most of the cultural programme runs through Klarissza-ház, the restored cultural house at the heart of the village, which hosts concerts, theatre evenings, exhibitions and a year-round events calendar. The monthly farmers' market on the main square and the volunteer-led MIKK community group add workshops, children's days and seasonal markets across the year. Hiking trails into the Pilis start within a five-minute walk of the station, so weekend visitors mix forest walks with café stops in the village centre. The biggest dates in the calendar are the spring and autumn festivals, the Advent market in December and the regular Sunday programmes at Klarissza-ház.
