About Dömös
Dömös is a Danube Bend village at the foot of the Prédikálószék peak, the walking gateway into the high Pilis from the river side of the range. The village has around 1,000 residents and a calendar built around the outdoor side of Pilis life: themed hikes, river-walk events, the annual Dömös Napok in summer and seasonal markets at the community house. The trail up to Prédikálószék and Rám-szakadék starts at the village edge and is one of the busiest weekend walking routes in the country. Dömös sits on the Danube road between Esztergom and Visegrád, around 90 minutes from Budapest by car, with bus connections from Esztergom. Summer ferry crossings to Zebegény run regularly across the river. Visitors come for the trail access, the river setting and the village's role as the main base for walks into the northern Pilis.
