About Csobánka

Csobánka is a hillside village on the eastern edge of the Pilis, looking out over the Danube Bend towards Szentendre and Pomáz. The village has Serbian Orthodox roots, a small but active artistic community and a population of around 3,500. Most events happen at the community house on Fő út and at the small open-air spaces around the village centre, with the calendar built around seasonal markets, exhibition openings, folk programmes and the annual Csobánka Napok in summer. The village sits inside the Duna-Ipoly National Park, so much of the year-round visitor traffic comes for walking and trail running on the Pilis ridges that rise behind the village. Csobánka has no direct rail link; the easiest approach is by bus from Pomáz station or by car from Budapest, around 40 minutes via Pomáz. The village suits visitors who want a quieter Pilis base with easy access to the Danube Bend.
