About Pilis Connect

Pilis Connect is a hyperlocal community platform for the Pilis hills area of Hungary — covering Piliscsaba, Pilisvörösvár, Szentendre, Solymár, Nagykovácsi, and the surrounding villages.

Moving to a new area is hard. Finding out what's happening, meeting people, and building a social life from scratch takes effort — especially when there's a language barrier. Pilis Connect exists to make that easier.

What we do

We aggregate local events from municipal websites and community calendars, translate them into both English and Hungarian, and present them in one clean feed. No more scrolling through Facebook groups or trying to decipher council websites.

Beyond events, Pilis Connect is a place to find your people. Create a community profile, see who else is in your village, find language exchange partners, or just discover that your neighbor three streets over is also into board games.

For expats and locals

This isn't just for expats. If you're a Hungarian local who's curious about the international community in your area, or looking for a language practice partner, or just want to meet new people — you're welcome here. The "Born here" option on profiles exists for a reason.

Pilis Connect covers events and community in Piliscsaba, Pilisvörösvár, Pilisszentiván, Pilisszántó, Piliscsév, Solymár, Nagykovácsi, Szentendre, Budakalász, Pomáz, Csobánka, Pilisjászfalu, and Pilisszentkereszt — the towns and villages nestled in and around the Pilis hills, northwest of Budapest.

How it works

Every week, our system automatically collects events from municipal websites, community calendars, and event platforms across the Pilis region. Each event is classified by type — live music, theatre, film, sport, family, and more — translated into both languages, and published to the site. You can filter by village, category, or month to find exactly what you're looking for.
